Marketing

So you have an online store. Now what? It ain’t going to do you much good sitting there taking up precious cyberspace! You need customers! You need sales! And what about those new-fangled social networks all the kids are playing with these days, is there some way you can utilize those? We here at Instinct got you covered. With a variety of marketing tools, you have no excuse for not getting your store out there.

Coupons: Everyone loves a discount, and everyone loves to feel special. What better way to combine the two then through a coupon! And with our handy-dandy coupon generator, creating coupons is easier than ever. With multiple conditions for multiple products, you can go coupon crazy.

Note: Due to a current limitation of PayPal, if your user makes a purchase and uses a coupon, we can not send a list of items through to paypal for processing. Rather, we must send the total amount of the purchase, so that within PayPal the user who purchases a product will see your shop name and the total amount of their purchase.

Display Cross Sales: If you have this option selected, when a customer views a product they will a list of other products purchased by customers who also purchased that particular product. Amazon.com has a similar feature (ok, we might have gotten the idea from them). This is a great way to nudge your customers toward other products they might be interested in. Increased nudging = increased sales.

Note: Cross-sale suggestions are automatically generated from the purchase history in your store. There is not yet a way to specifically choose which products will be recommended.

Share This: You have probably come across the ubiquitous Share This button sometime in your browsing history. But we doubt you understood it’s true power. With the click of a single button, your customers have the ability to share your products (along with a product link) on some of the most popular social networking, as well as via email, without leaving the comfort of the product page. If there is one thing you do for marketing, make it be Share This.

Display How Customer Found Us Survey: This is pretty self explanatory. If you select this, a short survey will appear on your checkout page asking the customer how they found your site. Knowledge is power!

RSS Address: Not only can people use this RSS feed to keep up-to-date with your product list,  but you can also use this link to promote your products in your facebook profile. Just add the getshopped! facebook application to your facebook profile and follow the instructions.

Google Base: This is where you can grant Google Base (now called Google Merchant Center) access to your site. Google Merchant Center is a place where you can easily submit all types of content, which will be made searchable on Google. Everyone loves Google!

Note: Google Merchant Center requires you to have a (free) account.
